As former “big law” trial partners, as well as former senior insurance executives, we have deep experience in tackling the C-suite challenges posed by high-stakes litigation, internal investigations, crisis management, and whistleblower complaints. We have devised pragmatic solutions to complex regulatory and governance demands facing financial-service companies, both domestic and multinational.
We have successfully resolved seven, eight, and nine-figure cases around the country in federal and state courts, as well as in arbitral forums, through final appeal. Whether you have a mass tort, a high-profile class action or a precedential coverage action, we have a long track record of pursuing winning strategies. We have also resolved domestic and international regulatory probes, and conducted civil and white-collar investigations.
Our managing partner, Damon Vocke, is the former President and Global General Counsel of General Re Corporation. He is also the former Chairman of a Lloyd’s of London syndicate, as well as of United States Aviation Underwriters based in New York. Prior to joining Gen Re in 2004, he had a string of success in trials, arbitrations, MDLs, class actions and injunctive proceedings. He has now assembled a team of high-performance lawyers who share his philosophy of delivering superior client service. We offer a nimble and cost-effective alternative to mega firms for clients in need of a “go to” partnership for high-end problem solving.
VLG represents several international, publicly-traded companies, as well as major subsidiaries of publicly-traded companies, along with privately-held companies. For these clients, VLG has provided: business counseling on complex contract disputes involving multiple jurisdictions; arbitration advocacy; insurance regulatory analysis, advocacy and related trial preparation; and corporate governance counseling.
